A blog can also show potential employers that you are tech-savvy and motivated. The article suggests that blogging and developing a following should start when you are employed, if possible. Adrienne Waldo, a freelance writer and blogger, recommends writing about something about which you are passionate, but don't pretend to be an expert on the subject if you're not.
